for the first E-Asia Joint Research Project Meeting
The Ateneo ROSES Laboratory’s very own Mr. Clint Bennett, Kent Soria, and Jezlor Villarde successfully attended training at the Chiang Mai University in Thailand held last November 10, 2023. In addition to this, they were also honored to attend the first face-to-face meeting of the E-Asia Joint Research Project held in Bangkok, Thailand from November 9 - 11, 2023.
We at the Ateneo ROSES Laboratory would like extend its thanks to Dr. Suruku Udomson, Dr. Sarawut Kumphune, Dr. Chawan Manaspon, and Dr. Ukrit Mankong for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our representatives. We would also like to thank our partners in the E-Asia Joint Research Project, most notably Dr. Tetsuya Kawanishi (Waseda University, Japan), Atsushi Kanno, Manabu Kagami, Eiji Okamoto, and Toshimasa Umezawa (NICT), for partnering with us on this project.
ROSES Member Completes FTC Reactor Engineering Course
Francesca Palabrica has successfully completed the FTC Reactor Engineering Course offered by the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute in association with the Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Mapua University, UP-Manila, and Technological University of the Philippines - Taguig last October 2023. This course covered the fundamentals of reactor engineering and nuclear energy.
ROSES Laboratory Participates in 2023 SPP Conference
Members of the Ateneo ROSES Laboratory attended the SPP conference on July 28, 2023. Mr. Jezlor Villarde and Mr. Kent Soria presented research on optical resonators co-published with collaborators in Spain and attended an event on advancing optics and photonics in the Philippines.
ROSES Members Visit Suruga Seiki, Taiwan
Mr. Kent Soria and Ms. Cindy Esporlas visited Suruga Seiki, Taiwan last June 2023 to discuss photonic realignment system needs for testing photonic integrated circuits and for the three current DOST-PCIEERD funded projects.
ROSES Member Completes PIC Training in Valencia, Spain
Mr. Kent Soria underwent training last February-April 2023 at the Nanophotonic Technology Center in Valencia, Spain for the fabrication and testing of photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
