Exploring the Quantum Frontier: Ateneo R.O.S.E.S Engages with DOST-ASTI on Emerging Technologies 

Members of the Ateneo R.O.S.E.S Laboratory recently visited DOST-ASTI on December 5, 2024, to engage in discussions on quantum computing and photonic technologies. As part of the Quantum 101 Training, the team explored foundational quantum principles, quantum algorithms, and circuit simulations, gaining insights into emerging quantum research in the Philippines. Dr. Benjamin Dingel, head of the Ateneo R.O.S.E.S Laboratory, also shared perspectives on the role of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) in advancing quantum computing. This collaboration marks an important step in bridging photonics and quantum science, strengthening research ties between Ateneo and DOST-ASTI.

Ateneo R.O.S.E.S Laboratory Explores the Future of Telecommunications at PLDT Technolab 

Members of the Ateneo R.O.S.E.S Laboratory had an exclusive opportunity to tour PLDT Technolab on November 20, 2024, gaining first-hand insights into the future of wireless communications and fiber optic technology. As part of PLDT’s partnership with academic institutions under the Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP), the visit strengthened ties between industry and research. The experience showcased the critical role of fiber optics in modern telecommunications and encouraged further exploration into optical network advancements that drive high-speed internet connectivity across the country.

Ateneo R.O.S.E.S Laboratory Hosts First Face-to-Face Seminar on Innovations in Communication Technologies 

The Ateneo R.O.S.E.S Laboratory proudly held its first face-to-face seminar series, "Innovations in Communication Technologies: From Millimeter Wave and Optical Systems to Autonomous Driving," on November 9, 2024, at Ateneo de Manila University. The event featured distinguished speakers from leading institutions across Asia and included poster sessions showcasing innovative research from local universities, including Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines Diliman, Mapúa University, and Technological University of the Philippines. Prof. Tetsuya Kawanishi (Waseda University), Prof. Ukrit Mankong (Chiang Mai University), Prof. Toshi Umezawa (NICT), and Prof. Atsushi Kanno (Nagoya Institute of Technology) also shared insights into cutting-edge wireless, optical, and automotive communication technologies shaping the future of connectivity. This milestone event highlighted the laboratory's commitment to promoting research partnerships and encouraging innovation in modern communication systems. 

Bridging Nations Through Research: Ateneo ROSES Lab Hosts the Third e-Asia Joint Research Project Meeting in the Philippines 

The Ateneo R.O.S.E.S Laboratory proudly hosted the Third e-Asia Project Face-to-Face Meeting at Ateneo de Manila University from November 7-9, 2024—the first time this meeting was held in the Philippines. The laboratory extends its gratitude to Prof. Tetsuya Kawanishi, Prof. Ukrit Mankong, Prof. Toshi Umezawa, and Prof. Atsushi Kanno for sharing their invaluable knowledge and expertise during the seminar series "Innovations in Communication Technologies: From Millimeter Wave and Optical Systems to Autonomous Driving" on November 9, 2024. Their insights provided an incredible learning opportunity for the Filipino research community.
