We're Hiring! Ateneo ROSES is looking for Electronic and Computer Engineers.
Last May 20–22, 2025, Engr. Mae Garcillanosa, a visiting researcher at the Ateneo Research on Optical Science, Engineering, and Systems (ROSES) Laboratory and advisee of Dr. Benjamin Dingel, participated in the Wireless and Optical Communications Conference (WOCC) 2025, held in Macau, China, through online presentation. She presented her research paper titled “Novel Nested Cross-Coupled Microring Resonator Architecture for Optical Sensors and Optical Communication Networks Applications”, which introduces a tunable and compact microring resonator design aimed at improving the performance of photonic filters for both sensing and high-speed optical communication systems. The paper has already been published in IEEE Xplore, further contributing to the growing body of knowledge in the field of silicon photonics.
Engr. Garcillanosa also serves as the College Research Coordinator and Electronics Engineering Program Chair at the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (MMCL). Her participation in WOCC 2025 reflects her active engagement in international research collaborations and her contribution to advancing integrated photonics in the Philippines. This milestone was made possible through her involvement in the Ateneo ROSES Laboratory and the dedicated mentorship of Dr. Benjamin Dingel, along with the collaborative support of fellow Research Assistants in the lab. Their guidance and shared expertise continue to foster an environment of innovation and excellence in photonics research, empowering Filipino scientists and researchers to contribute meaningfully to the global scientific community.
